Christmas 2012. I just kind of stumbled upon this treatment of the song by trying to make it sound minor and sad. I thought the lyrics were kind of ominous/creepy in the context of a sad song, and so I leaned into that. Our record label actually tried to stop me from releasing the song because they wanted us to turn it into a potential Teenage Kicks radio single. This is the very first Christmas song I released under the Teenage Kicks moniker as "Singles Club 5.5".
